You will sleep in a 16th century house with modern comfort, located on the ramparts in the very quiet historic district of Avallon. This house has a large room of 35m2 accessible by the three steps of the steps, then by the staircase in the turret with narrow steps (for alert people). Private bathrooms. Breakfast and linen provided. Possibility of additional sleeping 20 €. Swimming pool in summer. Many restaurants, museum and exhibition within walking distance, as well as the adjoining Saint Lazare collegiate church. Vézelay is about ten km away.
It is a family house built with non-visible timber framing. Inhabited by jurists since the 18th century, near the old court and the prison, it remained unoccupied for almost a century. The renovation sought to preserve the 19th century atmosphere it still possessed in 1970 by starting its new life as a romantic holiday home. Today again the main residence, the house, built by the noble canon Nicolas in 1530, adjoins the former dimière barn, the owners' current home, built with vestiges of the feudal city.
